Privacy policy
Lesepaar · Last updated 21 October 2026
Lesepaar is an iPhone app made by Vladyslav Zaiets. This policy explains what happens with your data when you use it. The short version: the app does not collect personal data and sends nothing to us.
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Everything you do in the app stays on your iPhone.
- Nothing is sent to us.
- Translation runs on your iPhone (Apple Translation).
What the app collects
Nothing. Lesepaar has no account or sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. It does not connect to any server of ours. The following is stored only on your iPhone: your texts and their translations, saved words, reading progress and settings. It is deleted together with the app. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, Apple includes this data in the backup, as with any app.
Translation
Sentences and words are translated by Apple's Translation framework directly on your iPhone. The first time, iOS offers to download the German and translation languages from Apple (about 100 MB); after that, translation works offline. Your texts are not sent to us or to any online translation service.
Your texts and web pages
Texts you paste, import from a file or load from a web page are stored only in the app on your iPhone. You choose files through the system file picker, and the app sees only the file you pick. When you load a web page, the app downloads that page directly from the website you entered, as a browser would; that website receives an ordinary request (including your IP address) and handles it under its own privacy policy. The app keeps only the readable text. "Export CSV" in the vocabulary creates a file only when you tap it, and you decide where to share it.
Voice
Reading aloud uses the speech voices built into iOS and runs on your iPhone.
Permissions
The app asks for no permissions: no camera, microphone, photos, location, contacts, health data or notifications, and no permission to track you across apps.
Diagnostics from Apple
If you turned on "Share With App Developers" in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share anonymous crash and usage statistics for this app with us through App Store Connect. You control this setting; the data does not identify you.
Children
The app collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to show, correct or delete; deleting the app removes everything it stored. If you write to us by email, we use your address and message only to answer you and delete the conversation on request. You may also contact a data protection supervisory authority.
Changes
If this ever changes, the updated policy will be published on this page before the app update that brings the change.
